Grace in a Box

Two verses have been on my heart since I read them last week.

Philippians 2:3-4
"Be humble. Thinking of others as better than yourself. Don't think about your own affairs, but be interested in others too and what they are doing!"

1 Peter 4:9-10
"Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."

Think of others.
Be interested.
My gifts.
God's Grace.
Various Forms.
Hmmmmm.....

So this week, I 've been trying to be better at checking in (for no good reason) with the women who are important to me and make my life easier. Being interested!! I've also been looking for ways to pass along God's Grace to those women.

Can Grace come in the form of food?
Cause I love to cook and bake.
Some would say it's a gift.
So I say yes.
Grace in a Box.

I plan yummy lunches for myself a couple days out of the week. Something more gourmet than I make the kids. PB & J and Balogna have their place, but if I eat them everyday...I start to get a little depressed. A little Stir Crazy! My yummy "Mom" lunches make me happy when I have to stay at home all day.

Monday, I asked my next door neighbor (who truly is an answer to my prayers) over for Grilled Portobello & Brie Sandwiches.

Yesterday I texted a girlfriend, who works a high power job at home, to tell her I was delivering Thai Chicken Noodle Salad at noon.
God's Grace, my gifts, in a Box.

Both instances were equally satisfying as they were rejuvinating for me. My neighbor and I enjoyed less than 30 minutes together, most of them interupted with boo boos and potty runs, a few tattle tales and some story telling. But there was adult converstation, laughter, and support sprinkled in there too.

My girlfriend was on a conference call when I made my delivery, so I just left her lunch at the door. But at the end of her long day, she let me know, lunch was exactly what she had needed! Her day had been a struggle, full of nightmares at work, a Drs appt that took 5 vials of blood, and a 4 hour call to India to restore her computer system. I had been a light, a smile, a HEART in her otherwise ick day.

I'm not sure who was more rewarded?
Me or them.
I think I might win.

What are your gifts?
How can you pass along God's Grace?
In Various Forms.
Do it.

Cause it feels awesome!
