My daughters are 10 and 11 and while they love Valentine's Day - they have outgrown the "cutesy" of it. Valentine cards with silly puns or cuddly animals get big eye rolls. I always design the kids Valentine's (because that's just something I like to do!) and this year I was at a loss of what to do for the girls.
Wyatt's are adorable and punny - my favorite! But I knew I needed to come up with something a little more sophisticated for the girls to be happy. I often listen to my iPod when I'm designing and Taylor Swift happen to come on. My daughters are IN LOVE with her and know every word to every song on her new CD...
Suddenly, inspiration struck!!
I knew I wanted to create lyric valentines...and I made the Blank Space one before the idea of designing them to look like a Polaroid picture came to me. Once I framed the design as a Polaroid, I got excited and made went on to make four different ones.
I printed them out at my local pharmacy as 4X6 photos (19 cents each!) so they would look like actual Polaroid pictures and then cut them to size.
The girls added their initials and year with a black Sharpie to look like Taylor's on her 1989 CD cover.
This morning I went to Michael's to look for pencils for the Blank Space one...and I found the lipstick pens and "shakeable" mazes on sale 40% off! I guess it was meant to be.
I'm super happy with how they turned out...not only were they cost effective (each one ended up being about 50 cents) but best of all, my girls LOVE them!
I've included the images below if you want to send some TSwift love to your Valentine. Be sure and send one to your ex-man and his new girlfriend too! ;-) Just right click and save the images you like best to your computer then upload and print at home or at your local photo printing store.
Let me know if you end up using them! I'd love to see your finished product.
Wyatt wanted nothing to do with Taylor Swift Valentines...so I designed a fun Wild Animal print valentine for him instead. You can get the downloads HERE!
