One Thousand Seven Hundred Forty Four

That's how much we love each other around the Burns' household.

The girls and Matt have taken to playing a new game when it comes time to say good night. After getting tucked in and receiving hugs and kisses all around, the three of them take turns telling each other how much they love one another.

Megan usually starts out by saying "I love you to the astronauts Dad!" and Matt will reply "I love you as deep as the sharks swim Megan!" then Molly will chime in and say "I love you as far as the Wiggles, Dad!" (she means as far as Australia!) to which Matt replies "I love you to the Moon, Molly!" They go back and forth trying to out do each other and show that they have the bigger, deeper, farther love.

A few weeks ago Molly came up with a new way to express how big and deep and far her love goes. And to us, you must understand, her reply wins the game. Molly played the trump card. She hollered to her Dad "I love you as far and far and far as Kate & Paul live Dad!"

To my girls' little minds, Aunt Kate MUST live far, far away. To them Chicago is emotionally the farthest you can get. For when Aunt Kate leaves on an airplane, we are sad and we miss her so. And we just don't understand why she can't come back whenever we want her to!

So while it's really only 1744 miles away, Chicago might as well be Australia or the Moon when it comes to professing love in the Burns household. Chicago = a whole lotta love! Because of how far it is, AND because of who lives there! We love you Kate & Paul!!

I never thought I would have so much in common with a 2 and 4 year old! Chicago often feels like the moon when I need solid Katherine time. I miss her terribly! You are blessed to have such a thoughtful, caring and fabulous sister.

and yes, I am one of your anonymous blog stalkers, I read regularly :)

This is so cute!

The girls and I compete with each other...always "one-uping" eachother about how we love eachother more...and to which planet...etc...etc.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I am soooo jealous that Becker shot your wedding....he is amazing.
I am doing blurb too, but it seems to be having a problem importing pics...argg...they are all in files that won't print...

Anyways...we live so close...we should meet up one day and let the kids play at the beach or something...

dinner is waiting...
