"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." 1Peter 4:8
Just a little commercial for Krochet Kids - an international charity started by two college guys with hearts for the Lord. (Click on the name to go to their website!) The church my mom works at donates an office for KK to call home base, which is how I first learned of them. She bought these adorable pink beanies for the girls and told me about what the boys were doing. Awesome - I thought. I HAVE TO SHARE THIS!
Their idea is to equip women in Uganda with the functional skill of crocheting. KK supplies the women with training and materials and pays them a wage for their work. They then sell the products the women make back in the States and return the money back to the women's impoverished communities. Both boys being fans of snowboarding and surfing, started off by making beanies - but hope to include other clothing items in the future.
You can read more about their mission and how they got started in this article on msnbc. They are also speaking tomorrow night as a part of OC Christian Outreach Week. Anyone interested in attending, let me know! Let's go together!
