Fruits of my Labor

Here is the quilt that I made out of the fabrics I gave you a "sneak peek" of for Nikki and Jud's baby girl.

I was really happy with how it turned out. This is the main Quilt Block that I developed the quilt around. It is called "Colorado Beauty." Jud and Nikki both went to Colorado State University - so I thought this block was fitting.

And in honor of this little gem being born in 2008, I put 8 flowers on the quilt. I love making something special for friends and family when babies are born. And I love it even more if I can work special meaning into what I am making. This quilt really worked out.

The hearts are for all the love this baby is going to get - and just because I thought they were cute!

I also made some diaper/burp cloths with the same fabrics, embellished some onesies, a pink tutu and flower headbands. I wrapped everything up as a "Diaper Cake" with over 100 newborn diapers. In the very middle is a bottle of champagne. A very Nikki Diaper Cake!

God Bless you Baby Crary. You are already so loved by so many. We can't wait to meet you!

Here are a couple more pics of the shower. I was so focused on everything else, I forgot to charge my camera battery! It died right before everyone showed up. But that's okay. Some things are meant to just be enjoyed - and not frantically documented! It was a beautiful, HOT afternoon and we were outside, right on the water. So you couldn't have asked for a prettier setting. I think everyone really enjoyed themselves, especially Nikki, which is what made me the happiest.

Centerpieces I made!
