The girls of Bringing Up Burns are Growing Up! They are both so independent. Every time I turn around, it seems they can do something else all on their own. And once they know how to do something - they never again want ANY help!
The other morning, as I was changing Wyatt, I hollered to the girls that it was time to brush our teeth and hair and to meet me in the bathroom. By the time I got in there - they were both already doing it themselves! I don't know why this surprised me so - but it did. Megan even got the back of her head and put in her own hair clips! Molly squeezed the toothpaste all by herself - and when I checked her teeth, they were really clean! I didn't even have to re-do anything.
When you do something for them everyday for the past 3-4 years, and then all of a sudden you don't have to do it anymore...it just really made me realize how quickly things change and how much they are growing up. The fighting over the step stool (to see in the mirror) also made me realize how much we'll need more than one bathroom in the future!!

When we were house hunting (the week after we found out it was twins), as soon as I walked into the boys' bathroom, I told Jon THIS IS IT. Their bathroom has double sinks. He thought it was crazy but I remember sharing a bathroom with my sister and fighting over the one sink all the time.
Oh my goodness, that gave me chills. I totally know how you must have felt. I love it. And I love that you don't interfere. You are proud of their developing abilities even though it means less dependence on you as their mom. It's kind of a weaning process that is both awe-inspiring and heart-tugging at the same time. I'm so proud of their desire to be "big."
How stinkin' cute!! It is so fun to watch them grow up and little by little take on more and more on their own!! Great post...i love it!
