Naranja y Cacahuete

Orange is my favorite word to say in Spanish.
Except for Peanut.
Naranja and Cacahuete.
FUN.
Butter is up there with fun words to say in Spanish too!
Mantequilla
(sorry if I'm making you hungry!)

To celebrate Megan being able to read all her ORANGE words -

we went to get Naranja fingers and toes and indulged with a Diet Coke and Manteqilla de Cacahuete cups as a treat (they do after all, come packaged in a naranja wrapper!) It was great fun.

This girl is learning to read faster than her Mommy can blog. She learned all her YELLOW words already too!

Her amarillo reward was going to be new yellow shoes....but alas, none were to be found on our shopping spree this weekend. She ended up with Silver Sparkly slip ons (this is a very big deal...slip ons...no straps!) that have big hot pink butterflies on the toes. I told her they were perfect...since Mariposa is also pretty fun to say. =)

Mateo is going to get great fun out of this post...as he is practically fluent in Spanish and enjoys reminding me I failed Spanish 101 three times. I learned all the Spanish I know in the kitchen at the restaurant I managed for 8 years. Immersion. It's legit.

Funny, I took and passed five Spanish classes and Jeff took maybe one and barely passed. He is fluent and I am not.
Whitney has been asking me lately, "What is my name in Spanish?" I tell her it's Whitney, and I don't believe she is satisfied.
Packing her packpack for preschool today, I overheard her say, "Esquilla. That is the name for 'toy' in Spanish." It is not, of course, but it that made me laugh.
