Africa + Adoption = Awesome Giveaway!

My cousin, Daniel, and his wife Christina, leave this weekend for their final trip to Ethiopia to bring home their baby DAUGHTER Samantha! It has been a long road and I am so excited for them to finally all be together. You can read more about their adoption journey, and their adorable 3 sons, on Christina's blog

In celebration of this HAPPY event, I ordered a custom painted canvas from Lindsay of Paint Me A Picture to send to Daniel and Christina. Lindsay's canvases are amazing! And I just love them. I requested she uses PINKS and put the heart in Ethiopia. Didn't it turn out cute? I can't wait to send it to them.

I'm also sending Christina some 31 Bits. Cause Momma needs some gifts too, not just the baby! On most given days, you can find me wearing one of my many pieces of Bits (that's some of my stash below.) I adore them and they look great with everything. Even better? 31 Bits is an amazing company doing great things for Ugandan women, run by adorable, fun, God loving women from right here in Orange County! If you are local, be sure an stop by their warehouse. It's FAB, and the girls are so sweet. I bet you wont be able to leave without some Bits!

So it's hard to compare to the exciting news of an adoption approval and Samantha's homecoming...but how about the exciting news of a chance to win a custom canvas and some Bits of your own?! That's pretty exciting, right?

Paint Me a Picture is giving away an 8X8 or 8X10 State Love Painting. You will win an original painting on gallery wrapped canvas (painted edges, no framing necessary) with acrylic paint then protected with a clear, matte finish. You can choose any state/country. Choose your colors. Choose where you want the heart located!

31 Bits is giving away one pb necklace. (I own this necklace and it's one of my favorites!!) It is a single strand made from recycled paper, multi-colored beads. So colorful and classic, it goes with everything. It has a button clasp that allows you to wear it twice around if you want.

I'm so excited for this giveaway and for Samantha's homecoming! If you want to win here's how you can enter: First, mandatory entry - comment on this post sharing your favorite thing about little girls. (Christina is so excited to have a girl!)

Extra optional entries:
1) If you're on twitter, tweet this: "Africa+Adoption = Awesome Giveaway at http://www.BringingUpBurns.com featuring @31bits and @paintmeapic! Go enter now!"
2) Become a public follower of this blog. If you already are, just leave a comment telling me so.
3) If you are on Facebook, update your status letting people know about the giveaway and linking them back to this post.
4) "Like" 31 Bits and Paint Me A Picture's Facebook pages and let them know I sent you! If you already like them, you're awesome! Just leave a message on their page saying you came from Bringing Up Burns

BEST OF LUCK!! Winner will be chosen by www.random.org next Monday night and announced next Tuesday!!

My favorite thing about having a little girl....doing her hair, painting her toes with sparkly paint, reading books to her in her favorite chair, snuggles, kisses, tons of hugs, how she calls me "mama" in her sweetest voice and I seriously could go on and on.... :)

How wonderful for you Cousin! Congrats to her and her family!!

The best thing about having a girl is having someone who understands my side amidst all of the boys in our house!

I dont have a little girl, but one part i love about little girls is their innocents, and buying clothes and doing their hair and spoiling them.

The best thing about little girls is watching the beautiful relationship they can have with their daddy's. Seeing my husband love on our baby girl....helps me see further his great love for me...congratulations to your family. Adoption is part of God's plan...truly redemptive!

The family I live with just adopted a baby girl domestically and named her Samantha too :) The best thing about girls is they have the best clothes to shop for and they honestly change people's hearts, boys are very special, but there is just some thing different about little girls...

I don't have any kids yet, But I have a little sister and definitely plan on adopting a girl (and a boy). I love the dreams little girls have for their lives ( I want to be a princess when I grow up!). The glitter and toe nail polish and those cute little outfits with cupcakes, and lady bugs and butterflies on them :):) I love watching my sister grow from a adorable little girl into a beautiful young woman.

As the mom of a boy, I don't get to do lots of the things I love about little girls! No cute dresses, no ribbons in the hair (his head is shaved!), no barbies, no ballerinas in the living room....*sigh*. I sure adore my boy but have to save the girly stuff for my nieces! :)

I made the giveaway my status...liked 31 Bits...liked paint me a picture (though if there was a love button for both I'd have used it)....and am a follower.

Think I've got all the bases covered! :)

what i love about little girls... picking out which dress for her to wear everyday (together), putting her hair up in huge bows, selecting *just* the right shoes for her outfit, painting tiny little fingers and toes, seeing the love she has for her daddy, experiencing a special bond no one else can understand... oh, there's so much to love about girls!

The thing I love about little girls is being able to dress them up in cute dresses. I love also being able to play House and all those fun imagination games with them.

I love that I have a way to empower my daughter to be the best person she can be and teach her what it is to be a woman (no matter what lies in her path, who she loves, etc.) That's what I love about having my little girl!

The heart of a little girl is so open to the sweetness, beauty and music of life. On a recent flight FROM ethiopia I saw so many little girls on their way to new homes and their eyes sparkled with promise. I'll have to admit, I wanted to kidnap each one and bring them home to create my own all girlie army!

I don't have a little girl of my own yet, but I am completely excited one day to have one. I love the idea of being able to dress them up and do girly things together - princess parties, twirling in pretty skirts, having tea with stuffed animals. :)

I have a little one year old girl. There are so many things about her I love! One of the best things is that I love the way she gets excited over swinging, just like I did when I was little! Her nose scrunches up and she squeals in delight. So awesome.

I have two little girls, a 3 year old and a 3 month old. I love how they want to be princesses and my oldest always tells me I'm a princess. It helps remind me to stop and be girlie instead of just going with the flow. Plus I've taken an interest in pink and purple now!

I am now a public follower of your blog.
I retweeted on twitter.
I liked all 3 of you on facebook AND updated my status!!

Hope to win that awesome necklace and painting!
