What I Whipped Up Wednesday

The other day, when I logged into Amazon to buy my latest Book Club read, I saw at the bottom of my page some "suggestions" of what Amazon thought I would be interested in. Well whoever is working this angle, aure knows what they're doing! Cause it suggested I purchase a mini donut pan.

Why, YES! I would love to!

I am really not a "sweets" kinda girl. But I do have a thing for donuts. Cake ones. Fried ones. Creme filled ones. Jelly filled ones. Cinnamon sprinkled ones. And oh yes! Those Jimmy sprinkled ones. (Just as long as they're not chocolate, we're good!)

So buy the pan, I did. And I made mini cake donuts to go on the "Sweets & Treats" buffet at Molly's party last weekend. They were surprisingly easy. My only tip would be to seriously UNDERfill the pan! Mine turned out looking more like mini bundt cakes than donuts. Until the last batch, I finally put what I thought was "not enough" batter in each pan, and they turned out perfect! With clear thru little holes and everything. YUM!

(recipe came with the pan)
Mini Cake Donuts
makes about 36

Ingredients
2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 TBSP melted butter
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Lightly spray donut pan with cooking spray.
In bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Add butter, eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Beat until well blended.
Fill each donut hole (barely!) only about 1/2 full.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until tops spring back when lightly touched.
Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and dip into glaze.
Decorate with sprinkles, nuts, or shaved coconut.
(you could also roll the donuts in  cinnamon sugar instead of glazing!)
ENJOY!

What I Whipped Up Wednesday

Yesterday I "Whipped Up" some things for Molly's Vintage Valentine Party that is on Sunday.

"Conversation Clips" are going to be the party favor
(Today only: One ships FREE with any Haute Tots order!)

A Birthday version of Tatertos & Jello's cupcake liner wreath will be on the front door

And Ruffled Crepe Paper streamers in Cherry, Bubblegum & Party will be ALL OVER THE PLACE!

I also used it to wrap my wreath before hot gluing all the cupcake papers on.
1 roll of Bubblegum Pink was the perfect amount!

What I Whipped Up Wednesday

A sorority sister of mine recently referred a customer to me. Kathleen was looking for some cute embellished tanks for her daughters to wear in their upcoming family photo shoot. She told me the girls would be in tutus and high tops - and just wanted something girly and FUN to go along! "What I Whipped Up" is what I'm featuring this Wednesday. I call it the LuLu Tank. Named after one of the cutest, sassiest, fashion forward girly-girls I know!

It's a white, cotton, fine ribbed tank embellished with a sheer black double ruffle and bright jewel toned fabric rosettes on one shoulder. I think it turned out FAB!

It's currently for sale at Haute Blue B! CLICK HERE to purchase.

Thanks Kimmie, for hosting WIWW. I'm really having fun with it! =)
