Christmas Sing-a-Long

The last week before Christmas, Megan's preschool had a Christmas Sing-a-Long. Each classroom sings a different song and the Jr. Kindergartners put on a play of the Christmas Story from Luke 2. The kids practice their songs in class all month in preparation for the big day. The performance is held in the sanctuary and everyone gets dressed up. Megan had received this cute baby doll dress and pearl necklace from Grandma Janis the day before and was SO EXCITED to wear it! This is Megan with one of her favorite friends at school, Kate.

Daddy's school is right across the street from Megan's, but we weren't sure he was going to be able to make it to the sing-a-long. He took a chance and ran over on his morning break, which is only about 15 minutes. It just so happened that as he walked in the doors, Megan's class was walking up on stage. I didn't realize he was there until I saw a look of pure glee come across Megan's face in the middle of the song and she waved to him! I was so glad he was able to make it - and that she was able to see him there.

There is just something about a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds singing that melts my heart. The song they sang went something like "Ring those bells and stomp your feet, 'cause Jesus Christ is born! (3Xs) Ring those bells and shout hooray 'cause Jesus Christ is born! (3Xs) Ring those bells and jump up high, 'cause Christmas time is here! (3Xs)" Each kid had a bracelet with jingle bells on it that they were all to happy to frantically shake throughout the song! It was a joy to watch. I'm already excited for next year when Megan is in Jr.K and gets to be in the play!

The video I shot is a sorry attempt and doesn't do justice to how cute these kids were! But better than nothing. I wish I had been closer to where Megan was standing. I had to cut it short, because as you can hear in the backgroud, Wyatt was starting to make a fuss!
