So over the weekend, I discovered a dirty little secret called FACEBOOK. Okay - it's really not a secret at all. Considering Facebook claims to have 90 MILLION active participants! And it's not really dirty either. But considering it has sucked away every last free minute of my time over the past few days...I am a little embarrassed. Anyhow - I digress. Last week I received about the 5th email from another long lost friend asking me to "Come see me on Facebook!" So I decided to go check it out.
In order to see people's profiles, you have to register yourself. Which I wasn't too excited about at first. I mean, do I really need more SPAM in my Inbox? But I was interested to see what these old college friends were up to, so a-registering I went.
At 8:47am on Friday I became a member. BY 10am I HAD 50 FRIENDS! Now if that isn't an ego boost, I don't know what is! I know it's no where near my brother's almost 400 friends. But he's single and 24. A girl I used to babysit who is now a senior in highshcool - she has 937 friends! So no - I am not that cool...But for a 30 something SAHM, I was floored. I knew 50 people on Facebook?! It's been a riot reconnecting with people I haven't seen or heard from since college. As well as reading the profiles of people I talk to everyday. It's interesting what people choose to put out there for all the world to see.
So please forgive me for not answering my Hot Spot questions pronto. I've been cheating on Blogger and having a sordid affair with Facebook all weekend. Blogger is still my tried and true. I will always love Blogger. It's just that I know he will be faithfully, stoically waiting for me whenever I return. But Facebook...well he is just new and fun, racy, different. I was too intrigued to resist. Hot Spot answers tomorrow!
