I have a new found appreciation for all you Midwest Mommas. It's FREAKING COLD this time of year and I don't know how you do it day in and day out. We had a blast in Iowa, but I am SO HAPPY to be home. It snowed (like blizzard snowed) for 3 days straight. And it was great fun. But if I had to bundle up my kids like that EVERY.DAY.
And deal with that cold EVERY.DAY.
I would go INSANE!
So bless you. I can't tell you how ecstatic I am to be back in good ol' Southern California 70 degree weather. The warmest it got in Iowa all week was 19 DEGREES (with a wind chill factor of Lord knows what!?)
Like I said.
Insane.
May the Lord Bless You and Keep You.

We heated our pool tonight and plan on making it our morning bath.
So there.
Defrost time.
Defrost time.
Here are some of my favorite pics from our trip...straight out of the camera.

It doesn't get more beautiful than this.

My NUMBER ONE rule of having kids was that I absolutely 100% refused to have kids in Chicago where it snowed. I told Jon there was no way I was bundling up kids every day, trekking them over unshoveled sidewalks, and going stir crazy with kids in winter when it's 30 below. So we waited even though we were dying to start a family and BAM the FIRST DAY we were in Raleigh I got pregnant with Nate and Alex. And while I do love that it snows 1-2 times a year here, I love EVEN MORE that we don't get it regularly!
I love all the pics but I particularly love the pic of Matt with the surf club jacket in the snow. That strikes me as hilarious.
Yeah I don't think you guys are properly bundled for those kind of temperatures..you aren't even wearing gloves for goodness sake! :-) The hardest part of winter with kids (in Wisconsin) is the bundling and un-bundling...30 minutes from nap wake-up to out-the-door to pick up my oldest from school! ugg!!
LOL! It didn't get that cold in Indy over Christmas, but it's coming! Enjoy that pool for me! I'd move in a heartbeat if I could. :)
My blood has thinned out way to much to visit or live in those temperatures! I was bundled up at 65 the other day!
Looks like you had a wonderful, White Christmas with your family :)
Now on to a Fabulous New Year!
Denise
Oh my gosh, I love that picture of you and the girls!! Beautiful!
I'm with ya - could not handle that cold!
Oh my goodness...I am so with you right now! I am in Tahoe and the on and off of snow clothes is way too much!!! I also must congratulate you on finding, organizing and packing all of that crap...I know that was no small feat! Happy New Year!!!
