Sunday night, The Case Family came to visit. I was so excited to finally meet up with Laura! Her blog was one of the very first I ever read 4 years ago. She had just begun journaling her (not yet known to be TWIN) pregnancy and her words made me want to start my own blog! We became fast virtual friends and have exchanged many a blog comment, crock pot recipe, mommy milestones, HTML lessons, Christmas cards, birthday party ideas, iPod music suggestions, travel tips, and have even sent a few packages in the mail over the years. Recently we talked on the phone for the first time. So you can imagine what fun it was for us to meet face to face, and to wrap our arms around each other's littles.
Since it ended up being decent weather, we took them down to the beach for a Pizza Sunset. It was fun to share with the Cases one of our favorite family traditions and get to hang out IN REAL LIFE! Alex and Nate were just like Laura writes them to be - full of energy and spunk, talkative and happy, and boy do they love to run and explore! After lots of chasing of seagulls and waves and stuffing ourselves with pizza, we came back to the house for some brownies and hot chocolate.
(this picture is from Laura's camera...it's ridiculous how much better pictures a GOOD camera takes! It's official...I want one.)
I think my favorite part of the whole night was watching Alex play in his skivvies. After his pant legs got wet in the white wash, he wanted them off. Laura had an extra dry pair (being the seasoned traveling twin mom that she is!) but he didn't care. He just wanted to get back to running on the beach!
Thanks Cases for such a fun night. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and putting voices to words, giggles to stories, and hugs to a friendship that's been 4 years in the making!
