He's Here!!

Wyatt Matthew Burns was born Friday, September 21, 2007 at 8:00AM. He wieghed 8 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 inches long. We are so blessed to have this little man join our family. I honestly can't get enough of him. His cubby cheeks, his tiny toes, his blue eyes, his baby soft skin. We just got home from the hospital today. And for the first four days of his little life - he's been eating and sleeping like a pro. Maybe he thinks - being the third - that he'd better be good and easy or he'll get left on the curb! Whatever the reason, he's nursed great from day one - I'm not sore at all. And the first night, he went four then five hours between feedings! Let's see if that continues now that we are home.

The girls are in love with him. Maybe even a little too much. They can't leave him alone. Molly says over and over, "I love Wyatt!" and Megan just wants to hold him all the time. They are facinated with everything he does, when he eats, what he eats, why he sleeps so much. They ask to see his eyes, his belly button, and his penis about 100 times a day. I love to hear Molly say "I have a baby bruddah - Wyatt" ending with a super strong T. So cute.

Another fun treat - a girlfriend of mine from highschool, Lauren Carpenter, delivered her first child, a daughter they named Harper Frances, at Hoag on Sunday. So Wyatt had a hospital sweetheart - we even got together in her room for their first playdate. Harper wasn't even 24 hours old!

I'm exhausted - but I knew you all have been waiting since Friday for some updates! Thanks for all your well wishes. We are so blessed!
