Midnight Gift

If you frequent Bringing Up Burns, you know by now, that I don't sleep much. And last night was no exception. About once a week, I pull an all nighter just to get it all done. "IT" being those spinning plates I blogged about yesterday. True, true...I threaten to let them all come crashing down. But we all know you'll sooner find me dead under a pile of china then I'll let that happen.

Case in point - around 1am last night I was baking. Pampering Beki's Apple Cream Cheese Danishes to be exact. (Totally worth it. Go make some. NOW.) Also 2 dozen blueberry muffins, an Egg and Sausage Strata, and Fruit Salad.

Hungry? Too Bad. Not for you. Don't be angry with me. I didn't even get any! (maybe I did sneak one danish hot out of the oven at 2AM. I needed some compensation for my insanity/insomnia.)

Aforementioned Yummers went to NH's Science Department bright and early this morning. It's Mateo's day to bring breakfast to the faculty meeting, and Lord knows it's not in my DNA to allow him to show up with a tray of bagels and some coffee.

So while my danishes we baking, I needed some entertainment. Choosing the less of two evils, I went with Blogland over Etsy. Both can be dangerous. But Etsy most always also results in spending $ and/or discovering some project  I must immediately begin. Blogland I can just oooh and ahhh, and bookmark and follow and resolve to visit again.

It didn't take long for me to end up at Tonya's My Joy. First, cause I love her. Second, cause she makes everything more beautiful. Third, cause even on my LOOOONGEST days, she offers peace and perspective. And Fourth, cause OKAY FINE!...I was hoping to see some pics of my yummy family.

And WHOO BOY, Did Tonya deliver! Grand Slam. Touchdown. Hole in One. Green Room Barrel. 3pt Shot-All Net-at the Buzzer-To Win the Game DELIVERED! (I married a coach. My apologies.) Her photography genius was my midnight gift for being an insomniac. It was like I was dreaming....yet I was WIDE AWAKE!

And to all you "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" hooligans...just a little FYI: We do bathe here at Bringing Up Burns. We usually wear shoes on crowded, disgustingly dirty, public streets too! Just apparently not for photo shoots.

PS - Another Rockstar is on Oprah today. This woman is as legit as it gets. I loved her even before "the crash." But since, she's literally CHANGED MY LIFE with the way she lives hers. Truly one of my heroes. You must WATCH! And by all means, you must READ!
