A few weeks back, I blogged about how an SLR camera wasn't for me. My friend, Laura, had let me borrow hers to figure out if I liked one before I went out and bought my own. But then I went and pulled all my random pics off the camera before sending it back to her. Without any editing...some of them blew my mind!
The clarity, the simplicity, the blown out backgrounds...
The speed (and ease!) at which I captured kicks, smirks, and moments in time...
The color, contrast, tone, and temperature...
Uh Oh...I think an SLR camera might be for me!
Lucky Me...Laura's the most uber generous person on Earth!
Cause she told me to keep hers!
Seriously.
She's the embodiment of AWESOME.
SO now here I am...
Starting to get it.
And wishing I had figured out this "itch" earlier than the day before THIS HAPPENS.
Oh well...I'm just gonna have to twist Tonya's arm to do it again!
And decide which one of THESE I want.
And start linking up HERE and HERE.
For now, at the TOP of my list is attempting to PAY FORWARD this unexpected, sweet, generous, fun gift Laura has given me! Stay tuned...

HA!
Once you go SLR, you never go back!
I bring my SLR whenever I want to take great photographs, I still bring my point and shoot for snapshots (actually use my iphone for point and shoot now since it has more megapixels than my old P&S!).
One of my college friends Anandi (Libby probably knows her too), did a whole series of posts on photographing products to sell online. She makes custom dog tags and jewelry. I'll send you the links, too much for a comment.
Missus Burns, my sister gave me hers a couple of weeks ago and I'm hooked too! I am about to start playing around following this "12 week" series (scroll down a few posts and you'll find it). http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=2780772
Yay, someone to learn with this summer! I've convinced Jennifer Gilmore to do a learning workshop for beginners (I was interested in Tonya's, but hers was for more experienced photogs.) Jenn is creating it for moms who want to learn how to use their cameras and (among other things) take better pictures of their kids. It will be in August. I'll keep you posted if you're interested. :-)
Erin, love the pics!
Just was checking out your party blog, LOVE it. LOVE all your ideas, that Lakers party was to die for, and I hope you do that Golf party for Wyatt. Check out my friends sisters blog, I think you will like her party boards she puts together.
