Saturday we hosted a night of Movies on the Lawn. It was an idea I've had bouncing around my head most of the Summer and was so happy to see it brought to life. We own an LCD projector and screen, which Mateo graciously hung from under the big tree in our front yard. We invited friends and neighbors, set up some beach chairs and blankets and had a blast! Can you tell from the credits which movie we watched?
I, of course, can't do anything small when it comes to parties.
So I put together a movie themed buffet of treats.
I made the food labels on http://www.picnik.com/. That site is brilliant. Love it!
About halfway thru the movie, I thought it would be fun to pass out glow bracelets to the kids.
And it was fun! All the kids were in Heaven.
That is, until somebody's Star Wars obsessed kid decided to turn the bracelets into light sabers and challenge everyone to a fight!
All in all, the night was a success. Beautiful weather, good food, great friends, and a fun movie! I just wish I had pulled it together earlier in the Summer cause I want to do it again!
(I'm thinking there may be an Eclipse DVD screening in the future...)
